Got started freelancing in a back-door kind of way. Right after finishing college, she decided to head west and ended up falling in love with the scenery. From the multi-hued, canyon-studded, touch-the-sky mountains, to the prickly, paper-dry desert, every place she visited in the western. Once explored by John Wesley Powell. In 2001, Sylvia became a full-time freelance writer, and now writes about a myriad of topics. Which includes essays on writing and variety of helpful tools for writers.
The purpose of the Heartland Writers guild is to promote and to support the concept of professionalism in published and unpublished writers and to aid all members toward the goal of successfully marketing what they write. Backgrounds of members are diverse, ranging from first time writers to published writers. The Guild meets on the third Sunday each month at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Missouri, 206 East Washington, from 2-4 pm.
